Cuttack, Feb 13: At least five people were injured after a drunk driver allegedly went on a reckless driving spree in the Chandini Chowk area of Cuttack on Thursday evening. The accused also ran over a cow during the series of incidents, triggering panic in the locality.

According to sources, a red-colored car was seen being driven in a rash and negligent manner in the busy Chandini Chowk area. The vehicle reportedly hit multiple pedestrians and struck a cow roaming on the road.

Eyewitnesses alleged that the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accidents. Enraged locals chased the vehicle, overpowered the driver, and handed him over to the police.

The injured persons were rushed to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Police have detained the accused driver and initiated an investigation into the incident.
