Jajpur, Dec 6: A 15-year-old student tragically drowned in the Kharasrota River in the Kuakhia block of Jajpur district on Saturday.The victim, identified as Sai Sarathi Kantha, a Class IX student at Mugpal High School, had gone to the riverbank with his friends during their way to school. The incident took place near Bahadalapur village, where the group allegedly stopped to bathe.
Being informed, the Kuakhia fire brigade personnel reached the spot. The rescue team was able to recover the boy’s body from the river and shifted it to the nearby Madhuban Community Health Centre. Unfortunately, he was declared dead on arrival.
Sai Sarathi Kantha was the son of Rajendra Kantha, a resident of Baransh village in the Mugpal panchayat. The young student's sudden and tragic death has left the local community in deep sorrow.
