Bhubaneswar, Feb 12: The Odisha Secretariat Service Association has decided to go for an indefinite cease-work agitation from Tuesday demanding hike in basic salary of Secretariat cadre employees.
The forum, in a press release on Monday, said the decision was taken following an urgent resolution of its office bearers and members here in Bhubaneswar. During the meeting, the members expressed their displeasure over the state government’s negligence in fulfilling its charter of demands.
Expressing discontent over the authorities General Secretary of the association Prajyotna Baral said, “Despite submission of a number of memorandums, the government has not taken any step on fulfilling our demands. The indifferent attitude of the administration has created resentment among the Secretariat staff.”
He further said, seeking intervention of the Chief Minister and 5T Chairman in the matter, the association decided to go for the cease-work for indefinite period which would begin from tomorrow.”
The association members will also stage a dharna on the ground of Panchayati Raj department tomorrow, the press release read.
