Bhubaneswar: A five-wicket haul by Mahesh Pithiya helped Baroda to restrict Odisha for 193 in the opening day of their Group A Ranji Trophy match at International Cricket Stadium, Kotambi, Vadodara on Saturday.
Odisha managed to draw their home match against Jammu and Kashmir at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack and gained three points on the basis of their two-run first-innings lead. However, in the least season, Baroda defeated Odisha by a massive 147 runs in the beginning of this year.
Batting first, Odisha scored 193 in 65 overs with Biplab Samantaray and Aashirwad Swain scoring 58 and 37 runs respectively. Mahesh Pithiya of Baroda caused maximum damage by picking 5 for 61. At day one stump, Baroda scored 50 for 1 in the first innings.
