Odisha Schools to Reopen on June 18 after Summer Break

Bhubaneswar, June 15: Government and private schools across Odisha will resume classes from June 18 following the conclusion of the summer vacation, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond announced on Monday.

The decision comes in the wake of the monsoon's arrival in the state, which has led to a significant drop in temperatures and improved weather conditions, making it suitable for students to return to classrooms.

Speaking about the reopening, the minister said the state government is keeping a close watch on weather developments. He assured that if hot and humid conditions re-emerge due to any change in weather patterns, necessary measures will be taken in consultation with the concerned authorities to safeguard students' well-being.

Gond also stated that the government is making concerted efforts to ensure that textbooks and other academic materials reach students on time before schools reopen.

With educational institutions set to welcome students back on June 18, the administration is focused on ensuring a smooth restart of academic activities and timely availability of essential learning resources across the state.
