Bhubaneswar, June 10: Schools across Odisha are gearing up to welcome students back into classrooms as they prepare to reopen on June 17 following the summer vacation. The School and Mass Education Department has issued a notification to all schools, instructing them to ready themselves for the resumption of academic activities.
The official notification mandates that all classrooms and restroom facilities must undergo thorough cleaning prior to the reopening. Additionally, schools are required to ensure the availability of drinking water and necessary provisions for mid-day meals in advance. Teachers and staff members have been instructed to resume their duties ahead of the scheduled reopening date.
This decision comes after the state government had taken the proactive step of closing schools early for summer vacation, commencing from April 25. The early closure was a response to the intense heatwave conditions prevailing across the state, prioritizing the well-being of students and staff. Now, with the weather conditions improving, schools are preparing to resume normal operations.
