Bhubaneswar, April 22: There is some political tension surrounding the BJP candidate Tushar Chakravarti in the Banki assembly segment which comes under Cuttack parliamentary constituency.
Tushar Chakravarti is the BJP candidate for the Banki assembly segment in the upcoming elections.
He has demonstrated his strength by organizing bike rallies and a massive roadshow in the area.
However, there seems to be resentment among local BJP leaders regarding his candidature.
Disgruntled leaders, led by Subal Behera, have openly opposed Tushar’s candidature and are putting pressure on the BJP party leadership to reconsider his nomination.
Recently, these discontented party leaders organised a meeting at Dulanapur of Damapada Block and decided to approach the party leadership for change the party candidate in Banki segment.
On the other hand, the upcoming in the Banki constituency has become a matter of prestige for the three major political parties BJD, BJP, and Congress.
The BJD has re-nominated its sitting MLA, Devi Ranjan Tripathy, who won the Banki seat in the previous 2019 assembly elections.
The grand old party Congress has fielded its veteran Debasis Patnaik in the fray.
Each party is vying for victory in this crucial constituency
