New Delhi, December 18: The Lok Sabha was on Thursday adjourned for the day following the passage of the G RAM G bill, amidst a heated uproar from the opposition. The bill was passed after Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan responded to a debate on it.

The Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Bill (VB-G RAM G), 2025, which aims to provide a guarantee of rural jobs for 125 days annually, replacing the two-decade-old MGNREGA, was the subject of intense discussions. As Chouhan delivered his concluding remarks, opposition members raised slogans against the government and tore copies of the bill in protest.

The session was scheduled to include a discussion on air pollution in the Delhi National Capital Region, with Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra set to initiate the conversation. However, the ruckus surrounding the bill led Speaker Om Birla to adjourn the proceedings for the day. Friday marks the last day of the Winter Session.
