Odisha: Registration for ‘Subhadra Yojana’ commences today

Bhubaneswar, September 1: The registration process for the ‘Subhadra Yojana’ has officially begun today, according to the Department of Women and Child Development. Application forms are now available at all Anganwadi Centers, Block Offices, Municipal Offices, Mo Seva Kendras, and General Service Centers across the state.

To apply for the ‘Subhadra’ scheme, beneficiaries must submit their completed forms at the nearest Mo Seva Kendra or General Service Center. Eligibility criteria include having an Aadhaar Card linked to a single-holder bank account (in the applicant's name) that is active and capable of receiving direct cash assistance. Additionally, the beneficiary's mobile number must be linked with their Aadhaar card.

 The department has urged the public not to be swayed by any misleading information regarding the scheme. This initiative, a flagship program of the BJP government, was prominently featured during their poll campaign and aims to enhance the social and economic status of women in Odisha.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced that the scheme is expected to benefit one crore women across the state. She emphasized that the application process, including form collection and submission, is entirely free of charge. Adequate application forms have been distributed to all districts, ensuring availability for all potential beneficiaries as the registration process gets underway.

Parida also communicated these details in a video message on YouTube, reaffirming the government’s commitment to the empowerment of women through the ‘Subhadra Yojana.’
