Bhubaneswar, June 1: Odisha recorded 22.97 percentage voter turnout till 11 AM in the polling for six Lok Sabha constituencies and 42 Assembly constituencies in the state on Saturday.
Kendrapada reported the highest voter turnout of 22.39 percent followed by Balasore at 27.84 percentage, Mayurbhanj at 22.46 percentage, Jagatsinghpur at 22.76 percentage.
Jajpur recorded the lowest turnout of 19.24 percentage followed by Bhadrak at 19.46 percentage.
A significant number of 99.6 lakh voters will determine the fate of 66 candidates competing for the six Lok Sabha seats and 394 candidates vying for the 42 Assembly seats. The polling is currently underway for the Lok Sabha seats of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, and Jagatsinghpur, along with all the Assembly seats falling under these Parliamentary segments.
To facilitate the electoral process, a total of 10,882 booths have been established, with 1400 booths exclusively managed by female personnel. Over 70,000 polling staff members are engaged in managing the polls, while 125 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) have been deployed to ensure a peaceful and orderly voting environment.
