Bhubaneswar, Nov 29: The Odisha Private Bus Owners’ Association on Wednesday withdrew the indefinite bus strike scheduled from December 1.

The association informed media persons in this connection in the evening following a meeting with the Minister for Commerce & Transport Tukuni Sahoo.

Sources said that the forum of private bus operators in Odisha had called for an indefinite bus strike from the 1st of December opposing the Location Accessible Multi-modal Initiative (LAccMI) of the state government in order to bridge the GPs with the blocks and respective districts.

In view of uninterrupted bus service across the state, the Transport Minister, accompanied by the OSRTC officials and the State Transport Authorities, discussed the matter with the bus owners’ forum amicably.

Today’s meeting is successful. The association has agreed to cooperate with the government, said Tukuni Sahoo following the meeting with the association’s office bearers this evening.
