Bhubaneswar, Jan 16: Well ahead of the general election and assembly election in the state, the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) has planned to expand its committee to accommodate more leaders, party source said.
OPCC wants to give new responsibilities to the youth leaders and encourage them to work for the party in the forthcoming election. The party has also planned to give promotions to many leaders. District-level leaders will get new responsibilities in the party. Those who are doing good work at the district level will be promoted, the source said.
On the other hand, the district president who is not working well will be replaced.
Dr. Ajoy Kumar, the newly appointed party in-charge has directed the party leaders to be more active than before.
He also warned that those who could not cooperate with him would be removed from the post.
On the contrary, some new faces will be taken in the women wing of the Congress. In particular, some women from Koraput, Malkanagiri, and Nabarangpur will be promoted. It has been confirmed by reliable sources that the Congress will give more importance to women leaders in South Odisha.
Earlier, former PCC president Jaydev Jena has also informed that there will be many changes in the coming days in the party.
