Bhubaneswar, Ap 1: Odisha Police on Monday celebrated its 89th Formation Day with the Director General of Police (DGP) Arun Kumar Sarangi taking salute at the state-level parade held in Cuttack.
Sarangi inspected the State-level parade and extended hearty wishes to the force. The DGP also felicitated police officers and personnel for their remarkable contributions to the department on the occasion.
He also said that Odisha Police has achieved significant success in the areas of Maoist insurgency control. While most Maoist-affected districts in the state have been freed from Maoist influence, even in some districts, police are actively engaged in operations to curb Maoist activities.
Police officials were advised to provide more services to the general public. They emphasize the need for cooperation from the public to assist the police too. The notable services provided by the Odisha Police in crime prevention and investigation have garnered praise at the national level.The DGP highlighted the continuous efforts to adopt advanced technology and maintain discipline within the force.
Stressing the importance of receiving awards, the top cop said that they inspire the police to work even harder and contribute more to society. They reiterate their commitment to always uphold their duty and provide security in various fields.
Police also organized various programs at the district level to mark the occasion. Several police officers and employees were honored for their dedication and service.
