Bhubaneswar, Aug 26: Odisha is taking big steps to promote science education by building planetariums in all districts of the state. Science and Technology Minister Krushna Chandra Patra announced that work has already been completed in some districts and the planetariums will be inaugurated soon.
To encourage students, the state government has also launched a programme under which 30 young science students are taken to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) every year. This gives them a chance to see space research closely and learn about India’s progress in space technology.
The Pathani Samanta Planetarium in Bhubaneswar will also be renovated, with funds already approved by the Chief Minister.
Minister Patra said the government’s goal is to create future scientists and strengthen Odisha’s role in space science. “We have already started taking strong steps, and the results will reflect in the coming years,” he said.
