Soro, Aug 8: The body of one of the two kanwariyas who were swept away in the Salandi River on Monday in the Balasore district has been recovered this morning.
The kanwariyas were residents of Sana Jaipur village.
As per reports, the incident took place in the Barada panchayat area under the Khaira block of the district when the trio was collecting water on the auspicious occasion of Shravan Monday. They were swept away in the strong current of the river.
While one of them was rescued immediately, the body of another one was recovered this morning. However, the third kanwariyas is yet to be traced.
Efforts by fire services personnel are underway to trace the person.
