Bhubaneswar, Oct 31: In the ongoing Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment exam corruption case, Crime Branch Director General (DG) Vinaytosh Mishra confirmed that the investigation has been officially handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Speaking to the media, Mishra stated that the Crime Branch will extend full cooperation to the CBI and provide all relevant documents and case details. “All updated case records will be handed over to the CBI as soon as they take charge,” he said.

Mishra revealed that the case involves inter-state links, suggesting the presence of a larger network behind the scam. “There appears to be a significant inter-state nexus, a wide-ranging conspiracy, and a money trail. Since the CBI has jurisdiction across the country, it will be able to investigate the case more effectively,” he explained.

Indicating the possible scale of the operation, the DG noted that the scam is not limited to modules in Vizianagaram or Digha, and there could be several other modules involved. “The CBI will unearth these networks once the probe begins,” he added.

Emphasizing the importance of factual reporting, Mishra cautioned against speculation. “We are only sharing information based on the evidence we have so far. Any assumptions could harm the progress of the investigation,” he said.
