Bargarh, Aug 14: Mortal remains of Odia Jawan Nilanchal Patel, who was martyred during patrolling in Manipur, reached his native village in Odisha’s Bargarh district this morning.
Chants of ‘Jai Hind’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jay’ echoed Baghapali village under Bheden police limits in the district as the vehicle carrying the mortal remains arrived.
Large number of people from all walks of life gathered near his house to pay last respect to the jawan.
As per sources, his last rites will be held in the village with full State honours.
It is worth mention that Nilachal, who was working as a jawan in Assam Rifles, was martyred during patrolling on August 11. He had joined the Assam Rifles in 2004.
