Brahmapur, Aug 25: A Special Fast Track POCSO Court in Odisha’s Brahmapur awarded life imprisonment to a man for raping and killing a five-year-old girl.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on the convict, identified as Kalia Nahaka.
As per reports, the crime occurred on April 25, while the minor girl had visited her maternal grandfather's home. The perpetrator, Kalia, abducted her while she was playing alone outside and took her to an abandoned Anganwadi center.
There, he brutally raped and murdered her, leaving her body in the deserted building.
Upon realizing she was missing, the family filed a police report. Acting on it, the cops swung into action and traced the girl’s body.
During further course of investigation, the cops suspected Kalia’s involvement and arrested him on April 26.
