Balasore, August 25: A special POCSO court awarded 10 years of rigorous imprisonment to a man for kidnapping and raping a minor girl on Saturday.
The court also imposed a pentaly of Rs 5,000 on him. The convict will be jailed for another two years if fails to deposit the fine money.
Special Judge POCSO Ranjan Kumar Sutar delivered the judgement hearing 12 witnesses and 19 exhibits. The court further ordered a compensation of Rs 4 lakh for the victim to be paid through DLSA, Special Public Prosecutor Pranab Kumar Panda said.
The convict, identified as Bharat Sethi of Antapara village under Simulia police station limits had kidnapped and engaged a minor girl of his area in flesh trade after developing physical relation with her on the promise of marriage.
