Odisha: Man dies of electrocution while attempting to save niece in Keonjhar

Keonjhar, Aug 25: In a tragic incident, a man reportedly died of electrocution while attempting to save his niece from electric shock in Ghatgaon area of Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Duryodhan Behera and the incident has been reported from Chinamalipashi village under Ghatgaon police limits in the district.
Duryodhan’s niece Anjali and his brother Dusasana sustained serious injuries in the accident and were taken to Patna Community Health Centre.
As per reports, Anjali touched a live electric wire while drying clothes outside her home. Duryodhan and Dusasana rushed to help Anjali, but Duryodhan tragically died in the process, while Anjali and Dusasana sustained serious injuries and are receiving treatment.
Upon getting the information, Ghatgaon police arrived at the scene and seized the deceased’s body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
A pal of gloom descended on the village following the tragic incident.
