Balasore, May 26: In a tragic turn of events, a man allegedly committed suicide while his wife had gone to a nearby temple to perform the sacred Savitri Puja in Panapana Panchayat of Odisha’s Balasore district.
The deceased has been identified as Padmalocan Behera (48) and the incident has been reported from Maladapada village.
As per reports, Padmalocan allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his home. After learning about the tragedy, the family quickly informed Jayanti and rushed him to the nearest Khantapada Health Center, where doctors pronounced him dead. The circumstances surrounding the death are yet to be ascertained. Upon getting the information, Khantapada Police arrived at the hospital and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem. The cops also reached the scene and initiated an investigation to clarify the cause of death.
