Bhubaneswar, August 6:  The Odisha government, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party, has issued a directive requiring a uniform colour scheme for all government-owned buildings across the state.

As per the new order, both newly constructed and existing government office buildings will adopt saffron-toned hues during construction or renovation.

A notification released by the Works Department stated that the state has approved a standardised colour code "for all new government buildings as well as existing buildings at the time of periodical repair/renovation works."

Dated July 30, the order outlines specific RGB (Red, Green, Blue) shades resembling light saffron for the main exterior walls and terracotta tones for borders. The rule will be uniformly applied to buildings under all state government departments and public sector undertakings.
