Cuttack, May 8: A dedicated outpatient department (OPD) will open for liver transplant patients in SCB medical College and Hospital (SCBMCH) here on Thursday.
It will facilitate patients to book OPD tickets for doctor consultation at the liver transplant unit as per the scheduled time.
The OPD has been set up in the super-speciality building. It will classify the liver ailment patients immediately ensuring detection and diagnosis faster, said Dr Rajesh Dora, head of the liver transplant unit.
All facilities have been made available in the liver transplant unit for treatment of patients suffering from liver cirrhosis, fatty liver, liver tumour, liver cancer and segmental liver resection like critical diseases. The OPD services will be operational from 9 am to 1 pm, said Dr Dora.
Dr Rajesh Dora and DR LN Mohanty have been entrusted the OPD responsibility. Experts of Asian Institute of Gastroenterology will help the SCB doctors in critical cases, said Dr Sudhansu Sekhar Mishra, superintendent of SCBMCH.
