Puri, Apr 4: Some miscreants allegedly looted gold and silver ornaments worth over Rs 23 lakhs from a jeweler at gunpoint in the Delang area of Odisha’s Puri district last night.
The jeweler has been identified as Prashant Mohapatra, who runs a jewelry shop in Delang market.
As per reports, Prashant was returning home with 270 grams of gold and six kilograms of silver ornaments last night when four to five armed miscreants intercepted him and took him at gunpoint. Thereafter, they looted the ornaments and fled from the spot.
Following the incident, Prashant lodged a complaint at Delang police station in this regard.
Based on the complaint, Delang police initiated an investigation into the matter and launched a manhunt to nab the miscreants.
