Bhubaneswar: Health and Family Welfare Secretary Aswathy S visited Jajpur district to assess the ongoing diarrhoea management measures. She conducted on-ground inspections at Dharamshala Community Health Centre and the District Headquarters Hospital, where she interacted with patients and their attendants.

During her visit, the Secretary reviewed patient care, medicine availability, and facility readiness. A high-level meeting followed with Jajpur Collector Anwesha Reddy, DRDA Project Director, officials from Jajati Keshari Medical College, the CDMO, Public Health Officer, and other department heads.

The review focused on hospital admissions, treatment protocols, and recovery tracking of diarrhoea patients. Secretary Aswathy S instructed officials to map every case, ensure timely and complete treatment, and allow discharge only after full recovery. She also stressed the importance of continued village-level awareness drives, early detection, and sanitation measures.

To bolster the efforts, RBSK teams from Jagatsinghpur and Khurda have been deployed in Jajpur. The Secretary appealed to the public to maintain hygiene, follow sanitation norms, and seek immediate medical help if symptoms arise. She also advised patients not to leave healthcare facilities without doctors’ clearance.
