Bhubaneswar, January 16: Kendriya Vidyalaya IIT Bhubaneswar hosted a heartwarming Grandparents-Parents Day on January 15, 2026, to honor the vital role grandparents and parents play in shaping the lives of children. The event, filled with enthusiasm, saw active participation from students, grandparents, parents, and teachers.

Dr. Goutam Moharana, a retired secondary teacher and State Awardee, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his speech, Dr. Moharana emphasized the importance of family values, the guiding role of grandparents and parents, and the significance of moral education in molding young minds. Snehalata Moharana also attended as a distinguished guest.

The event was presided over by Chakradhara Prusty, Principal of KV IIT Bhubaneswar. In his address, he stressed the importance of parental and grandparental support for the holistic development of students, expressing gratitude to the guests, parents, teachers, and students for their contributions to the event's success.

Special Guest Smruti Ranjan Mohanty, a renowned Natia Comedy artist, added a lively touch to the celebration with his humorous performance, drawing smiles and laughter from the audience.

The students showcased their love and respect for their grandparents and parents through a series of cultural programs, including songs, dances, and skits, which were met with warm applause and appreciation.

The celebration concluded on a joyful and emotional note, strengthening the bonds between generations and reaffirming the values of love, respect, and gratitude.
