Odisha greets President Murmu; specially renovated assembly room awaits her visit

Bhubaneswar, Nov 27: President Droupadi Murmu received a ceremonial welcome upon her arrival at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPAI) in Bhubaneswar.

She was greeted by Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram.

Later in the day, President Murmu is scheduled to address the Odisha Legislative Assembly. Following her address, she is expected to spend some time in Room No. 11 of the Assembly premises—a space that once served as her office during her tenure as Transport Minister. The room has been specially refurbished for her visit, complete with a new chair and table, allowing her an opportunity to reflect on her earlier years in public service. Security has been heightened across the Assembly complex in preparation for her presence.

President Murmu previously represented the Rairangpur Assembly constituency from 2000 to 2009 and served as Minister of State (Independent Charge) in the Odisha government from 2000 to 2004.
