Puri, Jan 8: The administration of Shri Jagannath Temple in Puri has announced an increase in parking fees for the four ‘Bhakta Nivas’ under its management. From today, devotees parking four-wheeled vehicles in these premises for 24 hours will be required to pay Rs500, inclusive of 18% GST.
The revised directive, issued by Shri Mandir’s Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee, states that the new fee also applies with an additional 8% GST in certain cases. The order comes into effect immediately and will remain until further notice.
The move has raised questions among the public and devotees, as the matter was reportedly not discussed in the temple’s management committee meeting, prompting queries about the decision-making process.
