Bhubaneswar, October 16: The Odisha Government is set to establish a Law Revision Commission aimed at reviewing outdated laws and regulations and suggesting necessary reforms.
During a press briefing in Bhubaneswar today, Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan announced this development. The commission's primary task will be to identify old acts and rules that have become obsolete and propose changes to modernize them.
Harichandan highlighted that the commission will focus on amending the Right to Information Act (RTI) of 2005, particularly targeting the misuse of the law through false cases filed against RTI activists.
He also emphasized that the commission’s recommendations would aim to enhance the legal framework for the benefit of the common people, ensuring that the laws remain relevant and practical.
