Bhubaneswar, August 18:In a bid to improvise Odisha’s health ecosystem, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday resolved to appoint as many as 1840 physicians and 5000 paramedical staff.
It was decided in a significant review meeting of the Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Department this evening.
The CM also directed officials to expedite the filling of vacant Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor posts, existing in the medical colleges.
The review meeting also discussed the increase of PG seats, infrastructure development in medical colleges, recruitment of technical staff, and the setting up of Integrated Trauma Care Centres in accident-prone zones.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to address doctors’ concerns related to recruitment, salary, and working conditions, and asked the Chief Secretary to take swift action.
Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Finance Secretary Sanjeev Mishra, CM’s Principal Secretary Saswat Mishra, Health Commissioner-cum-Secretary Ashwathi S, NHM Director Brunda D, and OSMSC MD Poma Tudu were present in the key meeting.
