
Bhubaneswar, September 11: Puri, home to Lord Jagannath and a major pilgrimage site, is set for a major makeover while preserving its cultural and spiritual essence.
A review meeting, led by Deputy CM Pravati Parida and Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, outlined the steps to transform Puri into a world-class heritage city.
Parida emphasized the need for joint efforts to enhance the city's vibrancy and spiritual appeal, while Harichandan stressed the importance of overcoming challenges with careful planning.
Ongoing flagship projects discussed include the beautification of the Shree Gundicha Temple, upgradation of Pramod Udyan, housing for Sevayats, and the construction of a Raghunandan Library and Research Centre.
The meeting also focused on integrating Odisha's traditional architecture into new developments and ensuring proper conservation of heritage sites like Atharnala.
