Odisha govt, IIM-Sambalpur ink MoU to foster bio-economy

Bhubaneswar, Aug 07:  The Science & Technology Department and Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Sambalpur signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop the first bio-economy report.

The state government has assigned IIM, Sambalpur to develop the first bio-economy report of the state assessing key strengths, challenges and growth opportunities. 

The MoU was signed between Additional Secretary of Department Puja Mishra and Director of IIM Prof Mahadeo Jaiswal in the presence Science & Technology Minister Krushna Chandra Patra and Principal Secretary Chithra Arumugam. 

This report will provide a strategic roadmap, ensuring bio-economic initiatives of the state align with national and global best practices while fostering a robust bio-economy ecosystem. This report can be a benchmark for the future bio-industries to bringing economic growth in general.

Among others, Additional Secretary of Science & Technology Department Sibani Mohanty, Urmiprava Moharana, Bidyut Prava Rout, faculties of the IIM R.K. Padhi, Sandip Mukhopadhaya were also present on the occasion.
