Odisha Govt forms committee to probe Cuttack bridge mishap

Bhubaneswar, May 4: The Odisha government has constituted a three-member high-level Technical Committee to investigate the Cuttack bridge mishap incident.

The panel will be led by the Engineer-in-Chief-cum-Special Secretary to the Government, Works Department. The other members include the Chief Engineer (Roads-II), Odisha, and the Additional District Magistrate (General), Cuttack.

The committee has been directed to submit a comprehensive report, identifying the individuals or agencies responsible for any lapses, within 15 days.

According to an official notification from the Works Department, the committee will probe the causes behind the fatal accident that occurred on May 3, 2025, during the execution of the project titled “Improvement to Cuttack Ring Road to 6-Lane Standard from 19/600 Km to 21/700 Km (Khannagar to Link Road), including a 3-lane elevated corridor of 993 meters under the State Plan.”
