Bhubaneswar, July 15: While the Odisha government has cleared its stance to adopting zero tolerance policy to corruption, the state in another giant step, is set to fire the inefficient and imcompetent government officials, who are said to be financial burden before the exchequer.
In a bid to ensure accountability in governance with delivering public duties during the specifieid timeline, the Odisha government is all set to implement Compulsory/Forced Retirement policy.
In a recent resolve in the state Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja chaired a high-level meeting in this connection on Tuesday.
Presiding over the meeting, Ahuja stressed the importance of performance reviews at multiple departmental levels to assess the effectiveness of government functionaries. Based on the assessment report, less efficient officers and staff will be considered for forced retirement.
Ahuja thus directed officials to implement the existing guidelines issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department right from today.
Ahuja emphasised the importance of activating inter-departmental working groups to ensure coordinated implementation of the Odisha Vision Document, which outlines the state’s development goals from 2036-2047.
Apart from the Compulsory Retirement prospect, Ahuja reviewed on existing vacancies in state offices in order to fill them up shortly.
