Bhubaneswar, Aug 29: The Health and Family Welfare Department has announced a major incentive for dental surgeons serving under the Odisha Medical Services (Dental) Cadre.
The dental surgeons working under the Health and Family Welfare Department who have obtained a postgraduate qualification from a medical college recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) will be eligible for a monthly incentive of ₹20,000.
According to the notification issued by the state government, the incentive will come into effect from August 29, the date on which the notification was issued.
Health Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling said the initiative is aimed at encouraging postgraduate-qualified dental surgeons to continue serving in the government healthcare system and strengthening specialist dental services across Odisha.
He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the state government is taking important steps to encourage qualified dental professionals in government service.
The Health Minister expressed confidence that the decision would help further strengthen the state’s public healthcare system by improving the availability of specialised dental services in government healthcare institutions.
The Health and Family Welfare Department issued the notification after the proposal received the necessary concurrence from the Finance Department.
