Bhubaneswar, June 21: Odisha is preparing to celebrate International Yoga Day on Friday, emphasizing the significance of the ancient practice of yoga. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will lead the main event at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, joining the program at 7 am, according to official sources.
Minister of State for Higher Education, Sports, and Youth Services Suryabanshi Suraj is also slated to attend the event at Kalinga Stadium.
Deputy Chief Minister K V Singh Deo will participate in the yoga event at Kasturba School field in Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar, while Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida will join the program at Konark.
Other ministers, Members of Parliament, and MLAs are scheduled to attend events organized across the state to mark International Yoga Day.
This year’s theme, “Yoga for Self and Society,” highlights the importance of incorporating yoga into every aspect of life for individual and community well-being.
