Bhubaneswar, Apr 5: Ahead of the Lok Sabha and Odisha Assembly polls, former MP and senior leader Rabi Narayan Pani today resigned from the primary membership of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Pani tendered his resignation letter to Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal.
“Of late, I have understood that there is no place of ethics and principle in the present day of politics. Any Tom Dick and Harry is being given all sort of power and responsibility by you people by overlooking senior and sincere people like us who are forced to sit idle like silent spectators,” wrote Pani in the letter.
Notably, Pani had secured the Deogarh Lok Sabha seat in 1989 on a Janata Dal ticket. Later in the 2009 elections, he won the Pallahara Assembly seat on BJD ticket.
He had the joined the saffron party in 2019 after quitting the BJD.
