Bhubaneswar, Oct 30: Former Bari MLA Sunanda Das resigned from Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Wednesday. She has cited “continuous neglect” and “mental harassment” as reason for distancing herself from the party.
Das accused senior party leaders, including former organising secretary Pranab Prakash Das, of denying her ticket to contest the 2024 Assembly elections.
She further alleged that administrative officers were influencing party’s ticket distribution.
The former BJD MLA further claimed that the party strategically used her to sideline former Bari MLA Debasis Nayak. Later, she was cornered from servicing the people of Bari after 2019 Assembly win.
However, BJD is yet to comment on her resignation.
