Special inspection teams comprising senior fire officials are carrying out thorough checks at various hotels, shopping malls, hospitals, and multiplexes. The drive focuses on evaluating whether these high-footfall, multi-story buildings possess valid fire safety certificates and strictly adhere to mandated safety guidelines.

During the raids, officials are meticulously testing critical fire-fighting infrastructure—including automatic water sprinklers, fire pumps, hose pipes, and fire extinguishers—to ensure they are fully operational. Inspection teams are also verifying emergency exit routes, evacuation plans, and other emergency protocols.

Fire department officials confirmed that the crackdown will expand to cover other commercial entities and institutions across the city in the coming days, with a strict review of fire licenses and safety compliance standards.
