Baripada, Aug 18: Panic gripped Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital in Baripada after a major fire broke out on the third floor of the hospital.
As per reports, the fire broke out at the operation theatre of the Gynaecology department of the hospital.
Thereafter, all the patients were shifted to a safer place.
On getting the information, fire service personnel rushed to the spot and swung into action to douse the flames.
Mayurbhanj District Collector Vineet Bhardwaj along with officials also reached the spot and took stock of the situation.
Though the exact reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that the fire might have been caused due to short-circuit.
