Bhubaneswar, Aug 9: The main accused in the sensational 2020 October 21 triple murder case in Odisha's Sambalpur district, Nabin Dehury has been awarded death sentenced by the Additional District Court (ADJ) Court, Kuchinda on Wednesday.
Nabin's son Hemananda Dehury, a co-accused in the case has been sentenced lifer by the court. The court also imposed a financial penalty of Rs one lakh in the case, sources said.
According to reports, Nabin and his son Hemananada were convicted by the ADJ Court for killing three members of a family over a land dispute. The father-son duo was guilty of eliminating Giridhari Sahu of Lapada village under Mahulpali police limits, his wife Sabitri and mother-in-lay Pirobati Behera with a sharp weapon.
After the crime, they were arrested by Mahulpali Police and court forwarded. Based on the circumstantial evidences, statements of the witnesses and reports submitted by the scientific team and police officials, the ADJ Court pronounced its verdict, sources added.
