Bhubaneswar, Aug 8: A day after being produced before the Odisha Protection of Interests of Depositors (OPID) Court in Cuttack, the two arrested Gurtej Singh Sidhu and Nirod Das, were taken by the Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of Odisha Crime Branch on a three-day remand for interrogation. The two were arrested in connection with Rs 1000 Crore crypto-ponzi scam.
On Monday, the EOW had appealed to the court seeking five-day remand of the duo. But the court granted a three-day remand, sources said.
It can be recalled that Gurtej is reported as the India head of one cryptocurrency-based ponzi firm ‘STA Crypto token’. He was arrested from Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan. The other arrested Nirod Das, the Odisha head of STA, the investigating agency had informed.
