Dharakot, Dec 13: High drama unfolded at Ganjam district's Dharakot block, a woman sat on dharna outside her alleged lover’s house with her five-month-old child demanding justice. The woman, identified as Chumuki Nayak from Kaalaku village, took the drastic step after being abandoned by her boyfriend, Balaram Swain, with whom she had been in a relationship for over two years.

According to reports, they both were in a love relationship for the last two years. Eventually, they met in person, established a physical relationship on the pretext of marriage. Later, Balaram allegedly abandoned her there. Chumuki became pregnant and gave birth to a baby boy. However, after the birth of their child, Balaram distanced himself from Chumuki and left her, ending their relationship.

Chumuki tried many times to contact him, but Balaram refused to respond. Feeling abandoned and frustrated, she took action by sitting outside his house with her baby and demanding justice. Local villagers witnessed the protest, which gained a lot of attention.

The situation grew more intense as Chumuki continued sitting outside Balaram's house, hoping to make him take responsibility. Her protest sparked a wider discussion in the community about relationships, commitment, and individual responsibilities. Local authorities have been informed, and investigations are underway.
