Bhubaneswar, May 17: Odisha BJP on Friday expelled veteran leader and former minister Bijoy Mohapatra from the party.
Mohapatra, who was a BJP state executive member, was expelled from the saffron party for anti-party activities and violation of party discipline.
Sarada Pradhan and vice-president of BJP SC Morcha Rakesh Mallick have also been expelled from the party on the same grounds.
The actions have been taken against the trio following the orders of BJP state president Manmohan Samal.
It is worth mentioning that Bijoy Mohapatra’s son Arvind Mohapatra is contesting the polls from Patkura Assembly seat on a BJD ticket. The veteran leader had reportedly urged people to vote for his son.
