Bhubaneswar, Aug 16: Unusual developments on railway tracks in Odisha seems to be a continuous bother for the last couple of months. On Wednesday, it was yet another such incident in Bolangir district. However, timely act by railway employees averted any major setback.
According to reports, around 4.30 pm on Wednesday a coal-laden goods train moving from Bhubaneswar to Titlagarh moved ahead even though at least eight wagons got decoupled on Titlagarh-Sambalpur rail line near Gunjitara level crossing.
It is learnt that the engine and remaining wagons of the goods train moved ahead even though eight wagons got detached near the level crossing. The detached wagons moved backward for some distance. But before any major mishap, railway staff deployed at the level crossing alerted their department seniors. The level crossing was closed for nearly two hours. However, after two hours the level crossing was opened again, sources added.
