Bhubaneswar, July 10: The ongoing agitation by the Odisha Driver Mahasangh over their six-point charter of demands has reached its third day, with no breakthrough in sight. Following a failed marathon discussion with the state government, the Mahasangh has continued its "steering down" protest, demanding a written assurance before calling off the strike.

No discussions were initiated by the government on the second day of the protest, further escalating the standoff. As a result, passenger and goods transportation across Odisha has come to a near-complete standstill. Fuel supply has been the worst hit, with several petrol pumps reportedly running out of petrol and diesel.

According to reports, fuel transportation has remained suspended for the past two days, severely affecting the supply chain. If the situation persists, the state could face a serious fuel crisis. Petrol and diesel may not be available at most fuel stations by this evening unless supplies resume immediately.

Protesting drivers at major fuel depots including Paradip, Balasore, Jatni, and Jharsuguda continue to hold their ground, further delaying the movement of tankers. With fuel stock depleting rapidly, the Mahasangh has warned that the agitation will not be called off without concrete, written commitments from the government.

The situation remains tense, and authorities are under pressure to resolve the deadlock to prevent a complete breakdown of essential services across the state.
