Bhubaneswar, Nov 8: Deputy Speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly Rajanikant Singh is likely to resign from his post on Wednesday, if reports are believed.
The four-time BJD MLA from Angul is going to resign from the prestigious post to strengthen party's organisation in Angul district, sources close to him said. According to party sources, Singh will meet Speaker Pramila Mallik and submit his resignation papers today. He has been holding the post since June 2019. Earlier, he had worked as Steel and Mines Minister under Naveen Patnaik government.
Speaker Bikram Keshari Arukha had quit the Speaker post earlier and further joined as Cabinet minister. He is now entrusted the organisational work in Ganjam district.
