Bhubaneswar, Nov 1: The Odisha Vigilance has intercepted a constable working in District Voluntary Force (DVF) in Boudh district with unaccounted cash worth Rs 6 lakh.
Based on reliable information, Vigilance intercepted Harish Chandra Sahu near Baghiapada outpost under Boudh Town police limits.
“As Sahu could not account for satisfactorily, the amount was recovered from him and seized. Following the interception, simultaneous searches are being carried out at three locations of Sahu from disproportionate assets angle. He is being examined to ascertain the source of funds,” said an official.
Sources said Sahu, being a member of the DVF squad, was collecting bribe from ganja dealers, cultivators and traders to facilitate their ganja trade. Further investigation in the case is continuing.
