Bhubaneswar, Nov 13: Congress will hold Tulsi Yatra on December 1. PCC President Sarat Pattanayak has announced it at a media conference held in Congress Bhawan here today.
The Tulsi Yatra will start from Congress Bhawan, Bhubaneswar and culminate at Puri on the said date. The party workers and leaders will march towards Puri, " the PCC president said.
Previously, Congress had held rallies and demonstrations over various demands relating to the famous Jagannath temple. The party had demanded for the immediate opening of the four gates of the temple for the devotees, the opening of the Ratna Bhandar, the counting and repair of the ornaments, and a permanent solution to the land issue of the Jagannath Temple.
Earlier the party had held a mega rally in Puri on October 16 and Sankirtan yatra on November 9. A deadline of October 29 was issued to the Odisha government. But no action was taken yet, lamented Pattanayak.
