Bhubaneswar, Sept 26: A new PCC president for Odisha will soon be appointed, said senior Congress leader and former Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Jayadev Jena.
In a press meet held on September 26, Jayadev Jena informed that the Congress high command would declare the new PCC president for Odisha soon. The final decision on Odisha’s PCC president is expected to be made after the election results in Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir are declared on October 7.
He also added that the Congress high command is currently focusing on election activities in Maharashtra, Haryana, and Jammu & Kashmir. So, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former AICC President Rahul Gandhi, and AICC Secretary Priyanka Gandhi were heavily involved in these elections.
While the high command has announced PCC president appointments for several states, Odisha remains pending.
In the meantime, a steering committee has been formed to oversee Congress activities in the state, with Jena serving as one of its members.
